How can I get tickets to fashion week?

April 19th, 2013

Posted by admin in fashion oscars | 1 Comment »

I don’t want to go to the one in February, that’s too soon (even though it would be nice). I want to go to the September 11-18 Fashion Week in NYC. Can someone please help me?

Also, could anyone give me a price range?

You cannot get tickets to fashion week. The event is exclusive and set up by designer*, INVITE only not open to the public. Set up by designer means an invite by the designer is usually needed for entry. The people who are invited is generally limited to celebrities, fashion insiders/assistants, press/media for magazines etc and designers themselves! However, you can probably find out more information at the website they list the venues, locations, times and dates of the designers being showcased. You have a better chance of perhaps being able to stand under the tent for a lesser known up and coming designer as opposed to well known designers like Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta. It is also good to know someone who knows someone etc and so on. My bf has a connection from an internship he did with a major fashion label. He would be working as an assistant though. Ask around. Check out this website it will give you more information: http://www.mbfashionweek.com/newyork/fall2009/schedule/pre_index.html Hope this helps.

Also, if you are not against it try the shows at the Waldorf Astoria. It is still high fashion couture gowns during Fashion Week just not in the official Fashion week line up in Bryant Park. The tickets can be bought online and cost anywhere from $40 to stand* of course per show to $1400 for VIP seating all the days the show is running. Here is the site: http://www.usafashionshows.com/showschedules.htm

Best wishes. you could try to win tickets to the event just search online I found these sites: http://www.clubplanet.com/Articles/1500/Win-Tickets-to-Couture-Fashion-Week-in-NYC

or pay the fees but this only shows the one coming up now its $850 http://www.newyorkology.com/archives/2008/01/w_hotel_fashion.php

How and Who to pick any nomition for the Oscar? What judge which one should be the winner?

April 19th, 2013

I have been wondering how (and who are they) to judge which movie should be the Oscar winner??? Besides, any opinion about the movie"Babel"?

i just want to say this….about The Departed…I really liked the movie but I noticed a lot of continuity errors which really distracted me….I am not a very observant person either, so these things to someone else were probably so annoying……for instance….one scene Leo has a cigarettte and the next second in another shot no cigarette….then the tissue box kleenex up then down then up….sweaty in one shot not in the next….necklace inside shirt next shot not…..it was way to distracting ..i just thought that it was careless…

What movie was the musical score from that played during the Best Actor award presentation during the Oscars?

April 19th, 2013

Posted by admin in oscars winners | 1 Comment »

It played after the 5 previous winners spoke about the 5 nominees. I think it also played throughout the show at other times. It’s very familiar.

They played the main theme from "Lawrence of Arabia" quite often. You can hear it at 1:06:

I know there were several pieces played, but that one was used the most.

Do you get a Oscar Statuette if you win even if you share the win with someone else?

April 19th, 2013

Posted by admin in oscars ceremony | 1 Comment »

While watching the Oscars last week I started wondering if you win say best picture along with two or three other producers do each of them get an Oscar Statuette or do they all share just the one, like they do with the Golden Globes?

Yes,when you go up there,it seems people get the awards and take them home, but they actually don’t keep them on most award ceremonies, they have to give them back so they can be engraved with the name, category, and movie and it normally is about a 2 year process sometimes getting all the awards engraved!

Where from is theme played just before the Star Wars theme at the Oscars?

At this years Academy Awards, just before the announcement of the best original score winner, an orchestra played several themes from various movies, beginning with that of Star Wars.

My question is, what’s the theme that played just before the orchestra started playing the Star Wars theme? It’s sounds so familiar, and I believe it’s a theme you quite often heard on videotapes, back when dvds didn’t exist, but I can’t figure out what image came with the sound.

It’s from Bladerunner by Vangelis.
