And we arrive at the grand finale…the Schmoes prognosticate the winner for Best Picture! Will it be “Avatar”? “The Hurt Locker”? “Drag Me to Hell”??? Enjoy!
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
I knew Hurt Locker …
I knew Hurt Locker would get it but I was rooting for Inglorius Basterds.

I love it when you …
I love it when you two argue!

omg wat about the …
omg wat about the road

Out of Sight is …
Out of Sight is good but Clooney himself doesn’t think it’s his best performance.
He gives good acting in all his movies in my opinion but Michael Clayton is his best movie!
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Up in the air is …
Up in the air is crap. If you want to see a good George Clooney movie then watch “Out of Sight” blows that piece of trash out of the water.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Up in the Air is …
Up in the Air is appreciated just not by the ADD people who pay to see explosions & talking CGI characters.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
The acting was …
The acting was great, the script was vague but made some sense.
McG did better then Michael Bay & I was also skeptical about it as well.
Bale did a better job on this film then he did on Batman. His best role is either American Psycho, Harsh Times or 3: 10 to Yuma.
Avatar was boring and I wouldn’t had liked Sam Worthington as much had I not seen Terminator 4 before that.
Star Trek was better then both but District 9 is the best movie this year overall
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
How is it a bad …
How is it a bad performance?
You’re being vague.
What did you expect him to do? Not yell at all? You’re fighting a robotic killing machine!
The script was shallow, he was delivered the line just like I would

It got mixed …
It got mixed reviews and alot of the critics who hated it always hate action movies.
I liked it because unlike Transformers it didn’t try to make up lame excuse to blow up.
What did it rip ideas from? EXPLAIN!
The closest it borrowed from was probably Battlestar Galactica. That’s it.
It’s a sequel/ prequel to a popular franchise. What did you expect? Think of it one of the Star Wars prequels. Some hate it, others like it.
At least it’s entertains & has substance unlike Twilight

I’m not saying …
I’m not saying popcorn movies can’t be great. But to be singled out as the best movie of the year next to movies that are both great and carry actual weight beyond the entertainment value, would be silly.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Terminator 4 rips …
Terminator 4 rips ideas and images off a ton of movies. Just as cliched and flawed as anything I’ve ever seen. It got horrific reviews.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Public Enemies is …
Public Enemies is still better than Terminator 4. It’s Bale’s worst performance of his career, Terminator 4 that is.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Terminator 4 was …
Terminator 4 was terrible. Christian Bale is my favorite actor, actually. It was written poorly. Full of plot holes. Bland un-inspired acting. It was directed by a poor man’s Michael Bay. It was terrible. And why do you keep mentioning Avatar? Avatar was bad, but next to Terminator 4, it’s golden.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
I’ll take …
I’ll take Terminator 4 any day over the other Bale flick PUBLIC ENEMIES, which is Michael Mann’s worst movie ever!
Hurt Locker is good movie but I don’t see why people like it so much when the first 2/3rds are great & the ending sucks!
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
How was it …
How was it atrocious? Because it was straightforward & didn’t resort to cliches or liberal politics like AVATAR?
Bastards is Tarantino’s weakest movie to date.
UP is good but not Pixar’s best.
Hurt Locker did not deserve Best Picture.
Up in the Air is great.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
How was it bad?
…
How was it bad?
Because you don’t like Christian Bale?
Because you hated the last Terminator film?
Because you can’t take a popcorn movie for what it is & prefer predicatable like 2012 or AVATAR?
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Wow Mark, you got …
Wow Mark, you got it right . . . K Love gets the gas face HURT LOCKER brought the hurt to Avatar . . . even though I thought J Cam was gonna make his way to the microphone check one check two.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Seriously … it …
Seriously … it was hideously bad.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
terminator 4 was …
terminator 4 was without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen. at least I didn’t expect disaster movie to be any good
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Did you just say …
Did you just say Terminator 4? LMAO … that movie was atrocious. The rest were pretty good. The standouts of 2009 being Bastards, Up, Hurt Locker, and Up in the Air
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
It wasn’t the worst …
It wasn’t the worst but it was uninteresting with only a few gems (District 9, Hurt Locker, UP, Inglourious Basterdz, Terminator 4, Up in the Air)
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Because they have …
Because they have to same something influential to sell magazines, 2009 was one of the worst years of cinema in along time. It was weak cause all the movies were written during the writers strike.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
Yes, it was very …
Yes, it was very much like a mesh of alot of films. It was hardly original. Was it good? Sure, but it was just a mash up of alot of sci-fi films. What is the South Africa metaphor? You mean “apartheid” and no, District 9 is not the first movie to address this issue. Maybe the first popcorn movie to do so … but not the first film.
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
No, it wasn’t at …
No, it wasn’t at all like either film.Lots of movies have adapated the documentary/ mocumentary style.Cloverfield is just an example of that style.Blair Witch & Paranormal Activity is just low-budget filmmaking.
The South Africa metaphor is what I meant.
AVATAR was Pocahontas w/ marines from Aliens & was twice as boring as Titanic!
If District 9 isn’t considered original then how come Time, EW, ComingSoon & others said it was the most original SciFi film since “The Matrix”???
September 1st, 2010 at 2:03 am
No, it clearly took …
No, it clearly took elements of alot of movies. The Fly, ET, Close Encounters, throw in a documentary style monster movie of Cloverfield / Blair Witch …
The thing about South Africa isn’t original. It’s a metaphor for apartheid. That’s been done in movies before. Where did I say Avatar was original? Avatar was hot garbage. D9 is better than Avatar, but its hardly original. Avatar was Cameron rolling all his films into one, with worse dialogue, and 3D effects.
