When Darren and I arrived the first time at Ste. Maxime in 2002 we passed “Le Wafou”, a brasserie with live music.
We decided to stay a bit and were looking for a table when suddenly Jim appeared and started to sing.
Darren and I looked at each other and we both thought the same: “What a voice!”
Through all the years we have been listening to Jim now we have always enjoyed his versatility, being able to perform an enormous repertoire of more than 800 songs – all-time-favourites like “Last Resort”, “Hallelujah” or “In the Ghetto”, but also the current chart breakers.
Actually, quite often we do prefer Jim’s interpretation to the original, e.g. those of the Chris de Burgh ballads like “Spanish Train” or “Crusader”, Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s version of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” or the songs in his “Monte Carlo Night” programm.
In 2006 Darren and I both found ourselves in rather challenging professional situations with 4 flats at a time to cope with.
But fair enough one of our four flats was close to Reutligen, so we just had a short trip to drive over when Jim was performing at the “Oscars” on 18th April 2006.
It simple felt good to let ourselves carry along by his voice and music ….

And if possible, can you provide a picture?
My favourites were Freida Pinto:

And Miley Cyrus. I know she’s on a lot of the "worst dressed" lists but I thought her dress was beautiful and she looked stunning:

Renee: Omg… Ben Stiller was my favourite part of the entire awards show. It was BRILLIANT!
Jennifer Aniston….and I have to admit…Angelina looked amazing.
But I loved Jennifer Aniston!! And ben stiller lmao he is amazing
Star Warslost to Annie Hall, Avatar lost to The Hurt Locker, and even E.T. lost to Gandhi for god sakes, who agrees the Academy is against sci fi movies.
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. But I agree, Sci-Fi films, along with a few other genres, do not get the respect they deserve.
I have sky1 and E channel to watch live from the red carpet but it doesn’t show inside the oscars, the award ceremony and that. Where can I watch live coverage inside the oscars? xx
